Motto: We Teach Technique, Build Confidence and Stengthen Bodies.
Our classes focus on technique, musicality, strength and coordination. We do NOT focus on competitions and costumes. Older classes may have the opportunity to compete once a year or so but competitions take much class time away from technique, which is the foundation of any performing art. We do enjoy showing what we've learned at our simple Christmas and Spring recitals. Our goal is to give our students the foundation they need to feel confidant in any dance, theatre, arts opportunity they may come into. We believe in giving back to the community that has made us who we are and in working together with other local studios to make sure each child is receiving the instruction best suited to their needs. - Mecinna, Jodi, Cassia and Hailey

** We have started a track program this semester, what this means is the children will be in age groups and will take numerous classes. All of the children will warm up together in the same room starting at 3:45-4:05. After this warm up the children will split into their first class. The classes will be 30min long and then the children will rotate to the next class of the program. We are recommending that you take all of the classes in their age bracket of the track. This will help to turn out well rounded dancers!!

*Sturdy Beggars Sturdy Beggars class is aimed at the highschool-ages student serious about increasing their stage performance skills. It builds on the foundations of the musical theatre classes- as well as any outside performance experience the student may have-and introduces upper level acting tools, which address areas including; Breathing, Voice, and Diction; Movement; Stage combat; Focus and Intention; Character arc and development; and High stakes choices. While any and all previous experience is beneficial, all dedicated students can thrive here. Geoffrey Bennett.
*Tumbling Students will learn the proper and safe skills to execute and master all basic Floor tumbling skills. Whether at a begginer level: forward rolls and cartwheel, at Intermediate; backwalkovers and round-offs or at Advanced; back handspring, tucks and passes, all participants will know and understand the safe process of acheiving such skills. Students will concentrate on body awarness, muscle toning and conditioning, and flexibility. Classes will constist of both one on one coaching, small group circuit, and team workouts. Safety and control will be highly emphasized.
*Cheer, Cheer/Tumbling is taught Cassia Myers, cheer coach for the College of Southern Idaho. A successful program she used to run in Twin Falls, this class is excellent for any child with high energy who loves to move. Participants will learn the proper basic fundamentals of Cheerleading through a safe, active, energetic environment. Students will learn and execute cheers, chants, jumps, dances, stunts, tumbling, and motion technique as appropriate to their indivdual and team level. Proper cheer technique, vocabulary, and safety will be enforced and taught and students will be activley engaged in understanding the importance of body awareness, muscle control and conditioning. The classes will also emphasize flexibility, building muscle strength, cordination and the ability to pick up and retain choreography quickly. Students may enter as beginers, but the will leave as professionals; equipped with the skills, tools and knowledge they will need to tryout and make any squad. Cheerleading is a great "add-on" to gymnastics and dance, as it parrelles both in values and discpline in body awareness and coordination.
*NEW CLASSES ADDED! Piano Lessons taught by Elizabeth DeLoach.
*Kindermusik -taught by Elizabeth DeLoach. The world’s leading music and movement program for ages 0-7. Every activity we do in class has a carefully chosen purpose, based on proven research, to enhance your child’s overall development, and reinforce learning through a fun and musical approach. In class and at home, children play, sing, dance, move, create, listen, share, read books, explore instruments and participate in activities to learn basic musical concepts.
The Kindermusik philosophy encompasses 7 principles:
• Our classes are child-centered, allowing children to take the lead in their learning and play.
• Our classes are developmentally appropriate, made up of activities specifically created for a child’s age and abilities.
• We are concerned with the whole child and how music fosters growth in all developmental areas including physical, emotional, cognitive, language, and social.
• We are process- oriented valuing the experience itself above the performance. Our goal is “musical children rather than child musicians.”
• Our classes are fun, in addition to being a forum for learning.
• We advocate parental involvement in classes as well as at home. We feel that a parent is a child’s first teacher and should be an active participant in their child’s learning. Parents are provided with the opportunity to continue the fun at home through the At-Home Materials. We encourage making music at home.
• We use quality materials: instruments, books, music recording, both in class and at home.
Our Time: for children ages 18 months to 3 years, and their parents
Our Time provides your child with the chance to explore and experiment independently and still be supported and reassured by you. In Our Time, you and your child will have the opportunity to sing, chant, explore instruments, dance, and practice active listening. Parents are able to focus on playing with their child while we introduce basic musical concepts in a developmentally appropriate format.

**New to The Gateway Foundation**
Young Child: for children ages 5-7
In Young Child, students are introduced to the written language of music. They receive the opportunity to experience and explore a percussion/pre-keyboard instrument, a stringed instrument, and a wind instrument. These experiences are designed to help the child and family recognize special interests or skills with a particular type of instrument before formal instruction begins. This curriculum is a bridge between the musical play of early childhood and a more formal musical experience, such as piano lessons. We will continue to explore and enhance vocal development, movement, listening skills, and creativity. Additionally, Young Child develops skills with regard to ensemble development, notation, and basic musical concepts.
Class Information:
*60 minutes, once a week, with parent attending the last 15 minutes
*At-Home Materials: Carry Bag, Home CD, Folder, Games Bag, 15 Music At Home Cards, Attendance stickers, name stickers and a variety of manipulatives, Family Songbook (Cost= $80, due at registration)
